HE Archbishop Angaelos of London was elected as a Global Council Member in 2013.

Lausanne Orthodox Initiative

This is an international initiative that brings together evangelical members of the Lausanne Movement along with members of the Eastern and Oriental Orthodox Churches. The initiative aims to nurture and develop deeper relationships between member Churches in the mission field. Archbishop Angaelos is a founder and Co-Chair.

Anglican-Oriental Orthodox International Theological Commission

Established in 2001, the Commission began its work by addressing questions of Christology; it has produced a draft Agreement on Christology, which is currently being considered. Archbishop Angaelos represents the Coptic Orthodox Church on the Commission along with His Eminence Metropolitan Bishoy.

World Council of Churches (WCC)

Archbishop Angaelos attended the Assembly in South Korea in October, 2013 as part of the Coptic delegation having been formally designated as an ‘Ecumenical Conversation’ Team Leader by the WCC.
